It's sort of like a basilisk, originating from an egg laid by a rooster, except that you have to warm it under your armpit instead of under a toad, and then have it hatch in an oak tree.

The creature, a hybrid of owl and snake, is eager to help, but will drive anyone insane with its constant desire for orders. It will interrupt anything for more things to do, and will go on a rampage if bored. A solution is to give it something impossible to do, like make a rope of sand, as it won't stop trying, ever.

Russian myth is weird.
